I have organised conferences in political marketing (2002 and 2005); and panels/workshops at  political science conferences such as the UK PSA (2002/3/4 and 2010), ECPR, NZPSA, and have a short course planned for APSA in September 2010. I was Chair of the PSA Graduate network from 1998-2000 and have helped in the organisation of political science association conferences in the UK and New Zealand and am website officer for the NZPSA.  I created a resource for political marketing (www.political-marketing.org) for my students but it’s open to the world to help people research and teach the field. These roles are hard work but it is so important to help open the door to new people, make them feel welcome, and it helps me meet new people all the time which is what makes being an academic enjoyable.
